Under what circumstances, if any, would you lie?

the basic issue in life is not to harm or hurt anyone, help others and try to mitigate the troubles - woes of others ~ so when by telling a lie, we can save a precious innocent life or mitigate their hardships, pains etc. and bring relief to them seem to be good reason to tell a lie; like if by telling a truth, the person may collapse or get harmed or hurt or get into unnecessary trouble, it is a good reason to tell a lie ....
